Prostate Cancer Support Association of New Mexico is a 501(c)(3). Since 1991, we have been providing support to men with prostate cancer and their loved ones.

Thanks in large part to donations from caring people like you, the Prostate Cancer Support Association of New Mexico (PCSANM) is able to provide its services free of charge. We appreciate your role in making our work possible. Thank you for your support!

PCSANM exists to provide men and their loved ones with the most current information about prostate cancer detection and treatment, as well as emotional support following diagnosis, during treatment, and beyond. To support us in supporting others, please consider giving in one of the following ways:

Donate Directly from Your Retirement Account (IRA/401K)

To use your required minimum distribution (RMD) to make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) gift to the Prostate Cancer Support Association of New Mexico:

1. Direct your IRA administrator to make a qualified charitable rollover contribution from your annual RMD amount and have it payable to Prostate Cancer Support Association of New Mexico

2. The taxpayer identification number is 85-0415287

3. The check should be addressed to:

Prostate Cancer Support Association of New Mexico
2533 Virginia St. NE, Suite C
Albuquerque, NM 87110

Then simply contact the financial services company that serves your IRA custodian and let them know that you would like to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution to PCSANM from your IRA. Please complete this form so when your donation arrives, we can identify that it is from you! If you don't notify us of the gift, we will have no way of identifying you as a donor.

Not quite ready to donate directly from your retirement account? Learn more about RMDs and QCDs:

If you hold Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), you are required to take RMDs each year beginning at age 73—even if you don’t need or want the funds. That same required minimum distribution increases a IRA holder’s total taxable income.

This income increase could potentially push you, the taxpayer, into a higher income tax bracket. It can also trigger phaseouts, which limit or eliminate some kinds of tax deductions, such as personal exemption and itemized deductions, and sometimes trigger high taxes on Social Security income.

If you own an Individual Retirement Account and are over the age of 701/2, you are eligible to receive tax benefits if you transfer directly from your IRA (up to $100,000 per year) to charities, such as PCSANM. The transfer will count toward fulfilling your required minimum distribution from your IRA and will not be considered part of your gross income for federal tax purposes. As a result, you may avoid being pushed into higher income tax brackets, though there are some limitations. Please talk with your financial advisor to see if donating with a QCD is right for you. Donate through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)

A donor-advised fund (DAF), which is like a charitable savings account, gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to PCSANM and other qualified charities. You can recommend a grant or recurring grants now to make an immediate impact or use your fund as a tool for future charitable gifts.

You can also create a lasting legacy by naming PCSANM the beneficiary of the entire account or a percentage of the fund. With a percentage, you can create a family legacy of giving by naming your loved ones as your successor to continue recommending grants to charitable organizations. Contact your fund administrator for a beneficiary form.
